Meet Dr. Richard Balcerak
Dr. Balcerak is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1986, he joined Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, and became a partner in 1994.
Dr. Balcerak is a Chicago native, and completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with honors in 1979. He earned his dental degree at Loyola University School of Dentistry where his academic career was distinguished by numerous awards and honors, including Magna Cum Laude Honors, and membership in the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Balcerak maintains hospital staff privileges at AMITA Health Medical Centers La Grange and Hinsdale.
Dr. Balcerak enjoys practicing the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery in his private practice, with special interests in orthognathic surgery and complex implant surgery, especially those involving bone graft reconstruction. One of his more complex orthognathic surgical cases was chosen by the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for use in their patient education video series. He has lectured throughout the United States as well as internationally on topics pertaining to complex implant surgery.
Dr. Balcerak is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and member of numerous professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Academy of Osseointegration.
Dr. Balcerak enjoys woodworking. He resides with his wife, Lisa Voorhees Balcerak, a dentist. Lisa is an established equestrian who routinely competes on the Midwest Saddlebred Circuit. Together they enjoy international travel.
