Meet Dr. Tyran Johnson
Dr. Johnson is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He joined Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in 2007 and became a partner in 2011.
Dr. Johnson hails from Iowa, and completed his undergraduate degree in pre-medicine and biology at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois with high honors. He earned his dental degree at the University of Iowa Dental College and was a member of the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity. Dr. Johnson completed a General Practice Residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital where he practiced a wide range of dental and surgical procedures for medically complex and special needs patients. He then completed his four-year surgical residency at Cook County Hospital, including rotations in trauma, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, emergency medicine, and general surgery.
Dr. Johnson has experience in a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures with special interest in trauma, bone graft reconstruction, and implant surgery. He maintains hospital staff privileges at AMITA Health Medical Centers La Grange and Hinsdale.
Dr. Johnson is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and member of numerous professional organizations, including American Dental Society and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Johnson is an avid sports fan. He enjoys baseball, golf, and running. He and his wife, Sara, are proud parents of twins, Cameron and Chloe.
